A little dusty from the trip. The paint is worn, as excpected on an 80 year old machine, but condition is actually quite good. (I have a feeling it may be closer to the 1500lb rating of my cheap pallet forks than originally estimated)
Yes, I DO need to clean and organize the garage...
Swanky taper attachment.
Numbers...
Feeds and threads.
A E S T H E T I C (or something)
Loaded up on the truck...
The first picture I took of it.
Sort of a reverse timeline thingy. I still need some spin dle oil, and I’m waiting for my VFD to arrive so I can wire it up and make some chips :)

This is most excellent, and very good a Oppo.
My inner engineer smiles at the thought of an 80 year old machine brought back to life, driven by a VFD and making new stuff.

That thing looks like a tank.
“Is it heavy?”
“Yeah.”
“Then it's expensive. Put it down." :p

Yeah it’s a “real” lathe, not a hobby machine like the little Craftsman/Atlas units —which have a loyal following, and good parts support, but are nonetheless a bit “light duty”—, it can do real work and is built to last in a production environment.

Im trying to remember which YouTuber it was today that I was watching who had a Southbend lathe. I think it may have been Jimmy Diresta.
